Discovering vocation does not mean scrambling toward some prize just beyond my reach but accepting the treasure of true self I already possess. Vocation does not come from a voice out there calling me to be something I am not. It comes from a voice in here calling me to be the person I was born to be, to fulfill the original selfhood given me at birth by God.Thomas Merton
FTE nurtures faithful, wise, courageous leaders for the church and the academy. One way we accomplish this mission is by offering diverse young adults, students and partner organizations financial support and opportunities to develop leadership in the face of complex shifts in the church, economy and theological education.
With each new generation of leaders in ministry and academia, FTE strives to offer relevant resources that respond to the changing church and academy. Throughout the history of FTE, more than 7,000 fellowships have supported young adults, rising church leaders and scholars on their path to vocation. Along with leadership and vocational discernment opportunities, these fellowships have helped to generate some of the most influential religious voices within denominational bodies, congregations, theological institutions and society.
Congregations, denominations, academic institutions, intentional communities and other Christian communities have a role and stake in cultivating the next generation of leaders. Join FTE in our intentional efforts to walk beside these young adults as they explore and discover their purpose, passion and call.
