Vocational Friendships

FTE believes that a community of peer support and life-giving friendships among pastoral colleagues is vital to a fulfilling profession in Christian ministry.

FTE offers Vocational Friendship Grants to FTE Alumni serving congregations in their first three years of post-seminary ministry, past participants in the Christian Leadership Forum and Discernment Retreats who are in their first three years of ministry post-seminary and to Transition-into-Ministry (TiM) Alumni in their first three years of ministry after the TiM Program. These grants are not intended to contribute to continuing education opportunities, denominational meetings or conferences. They are offered to deepen friendships that have nurtured and sustained pastoral leaders on their vocational path and to renew them in their role.

Recipients are eligible to receive up to $1,000. Applicants may apply individually or develop a large group activity. FTE will fund up to five eligible applicants participating in the same activity.

The deadlines for consideration are March 15 and September 15. Please submit your application before midnight Pacific Standard Time on these dates. Applicants will be notified within two weeks after the application deadline. In instances where there is a holiday involved, please allow additional time to receive notification.
