The Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) selects 17 scholars of color to receive support for their PhD or ThD program in religion, theological studies, or biblical studies. Students will either receive the Fellowship for Doctoral Students of African Descent or the Fellowship for Latino/a, Asian and First Nations Doctoral Students. Each Fellow will be awarded a living stipend up to $30,000 to help further their studies beyond the coursework stage.

The Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) is pleased to announce the election of Mr. Ernest Brooks, Rev. John Helmiere, and Rev. Aracelis Vazquez-Haye to its Board of Trustees. FTE’s Board of Trustees is responsible for governing and advancing the organization’s mission to cultivate diverse young adults to be faithful, wise, and courageous leaders for the church and academy. Elected by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS), FTE trustees serve three-year terms that can be renewed up to two times.

The Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) announces the departure of Matthew Wesley Williams, vice president of strategic initiatives, with deep gratitude for his leadership. After 15 years of service and impactful leadership, Williams will assume the role of interim president at the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta upon the retirement of current President, Dr. Edward L. Wheeler. A graduate of ITC and an ordained Presbyterian Elder, Williams will begin his transition into the role on July 10, 2019.

In her role, Ms. Repoley will build and manage leadership initiatives with organizations working with young adults in a variety of faith-rooted settings.

Elected by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS), Rev. Drs. Elizabeth Conde-Frazier, Jesse Miranda and Frank Yamada began serving as trustees effective January 1, 2016.

Twenty students have been selected to receive a 2015 Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) Fellowship for Doctoral Students. FTE supports rising theological educators from historically underrepresented racial and ethnic groups who are committed to teaching in religion, theology or biblical studies in North American theological schools and universities. In North American theological schools, less than 20 percent of faculties are people of color.
