Dr. Eric Barreto felt a vocational calling in his youth. He pursued seminary in order to gain theological education, read text and consider how scripture impacts the bigger world. A 2007 Doctoral Fellow, Eric teaches New Testament, working to shape the next generation of ministers, scholars, and lay people as able readers of scripture who can share the Word and equip others to do the same. Eric sees theological education as critical to making sure that the church, academy and society can come together through core values of humanity.
“ We need scholars of color in all our seminaries; inhabiting and embodying the future of this county. ”
