The Rev. Dr. Cristian De La Rosa sees her role in the theological academy as one through which the next generation of ministers and social justice volunteers can find reasons and ways to build and lead communities. Looking through lenses of theology and ethics, Cristian focuses her teaching on topics of institutional power and dynamics, specifically as it relates to Latina women in the United States. She believes that scholars of color bring a unique commitment to justice and solidarity, and uses the classroom as a space where she can equip these pastoral leaders to pursue questions about community and facilitate the transformational community.
“ The more of us there are in the academy, the greater the chance there is for us to be meaningful and relevant to all people. ”
