Richard Newton is a Doctoral Fellow and the co-pastor and co-founder of The People of New Day, an emerging United Methodist congregation. A student and teacher both, he researches the Historical Jesus, the anthropological and archaeological study of the New Testament, and the phenomena of scriptures as a cultural enterprise. Richard uses his focus and training to learn and teach how to make use of academic and social contexts to facilitate reflection.
“ “…my passion is to invite scholars, churches and the general public into conversation about the place of the New Testament in historical and contemporary life.” ”
